LIFE....

Life has so many surprises across t street
But we never live long enough to meet
Those that we do face
Pass us by with incredible pace
And let us walk down the road
With every step we corrode
And finally disappear without an ode....

How to name it?

What is called love?
The answer I don’t know
Why did I fall in love?
I don’t know that either

But I consider myself quite observant
So I think and try to find out
The answer to another question
When did I fall in love?

When the sun glared over my head
And continued the same way for many days ahead
I felt cool standing with you
It was then that I knew I love you

When I walked down the street
And thorns on the road hurt my feet
I felt no pain in walking to meet you
It was then that I knew I love you

I found myself surrounded by vehicles
With all of them, blowing their bugles
But unperturbed, I was thinking of you
It was then that I knew I love you

I was walking in the jungle when a breeze blew
Along with it, a nightingale flew
Upon seeing it, my heart sang to you
It was then that I knew I love you

I took a stroll along the beach
Well within the hugging wave’s reach
I bent down to kiss the wave, thinking of you
It was then that I knew I love you

I stood in the middle of a snowstorm
But it caused me no harm
The drifts were kisses from you
It was then that I knew I love you

I was trying to get across a formidable peak
You had called me there to speak
Undaunted by the height, I came to meet you
It was then that I knew I love you

I was out there in the middle of the night
Trying to read your letter in the moon light
That was a new moon and I managed to read you
It was then that I knew I love you

Sun didn’t burn me, thorns forgave me
Birds brought music and even car horns sang to me
All this reminded me of you
It was then that I knew I love you

The sea tasted sweet and the thorns brought warmth
Heights did not matter and darkness lost its relevance
All this happened because of you
It was then that I knew I love you

No man is an island....

A wise man once said
That every man is an island....
But hear me my friend
For no man is an island....

No man is an island
And never is a man really alone,
'Cause alone is an abstract word
Deified and demonized by the tone...

Anglicized by schools of religion
So as to cheat the laymen
Into accepting their faiths and claims
Of mystics about incredulous miracles...

Demonized by self proclaimed socialites,
Who stress on the maxim
Of having a crowd of pathetic admirers
To fulfill their every whim....

Hence beware my friend,
For one group commends company
And the other condemns the need
For having any...

Think back to what I said,
For no man is an island
And even the loneliest of us
Can alone solve not our life's mess

Look around you, my young protégé
There is company wherever you see
Though not always in the physical dimensions
Of length, mass and time...

The sea has a friend in every shore
Till either one is no more...
The mountain talks to the passing wind
That stops by to speak its mind...

The flowers are in wedlock
With their own fragrances
And the fruits run amok
Chased by their flowing juices...

The ascetic finds his loneliness
In the middle of a tree-filled forest...
Little does he know that this test
Would receive nobody's bless....

Same with the king and the bard
Who leave no calling card
Thinking hiding is loneliness
But this brings them no success...

A man is always surrounded by company
Sometimes he likes it, at times he likes it not...
But his choice matters the least
As long as he is part of the journey

The journey of life commences and ends
With man becoming a willing traveler
Driven by time's fast horses,
That make him a mere observer...

To you, My Lady

A gentle breeze ruffles my brow,
Don't ask me why, I don't know
Curious, I spin around to see
Oh my lady, you just passed by me...

My face feels lit up,
Has the moon come on a trip
To set her eyes upon me?
No my lady, its because you've seen me...

Do i hear Arthur's lady of the lake
Singing to me without a break?
To lure me to her shores
Like she's done to so many heroes?

I try to save myself from her charm
As her songs give less good than harm
But what I hear is not the villainous lady
Its you my lady, who's started speaking to me...

Your words take away my world's fears
They are music to my ears
In your voice I lose my mind
And fly free of the forces that bind...

I am lifted off my feet
I float high above the streets
But I can still hear your voice
As a lone melody amongst all noise...

I feel a tug at my hand
Pulling me back to the land
But do I feel sad or angry?
No, 'cause the call is from you my lady...

You ask me to take a walk
You tell me that we need to talk
How do I tell you that I live and breathe
Only so that I could hear you speak?

You Were The One

To see, at least once, your beautiful face
I know not the ways I need to take
Those eyes full of love and care,
That could light up the darkest lair;
That bright lovely smile
That made me run a mile.
Those baby pink ears
That listened to all my fears,
Will I ever see you again?

You were the torch that lit my path,
You were the shield that kept me safe,
You gave me energy to run....
The arduous road of life and still made it fun.
Oh! Will I ever see you again?

What have I done and where have you gone?
My heart cries out in pain,
It takes your name, in vain.
It was my heart that you stole
And took it with you to the hole.
Your face, will I ever see?
Will you ever forgive me?
For not stopping you from the sea?

Or maybe you thought the sea was not so deep
As the heart that you keep
Will you come back at least once?
Just once to see me.....
To say if you will ever forgive me.....
